Welcome to the Cabin!

Hi, I'm Sue. Frank and I live at the Cabin, and this website is an idea that may or may not work.
We love our life here at the cabin, and we love creating things. I love painting, but I also love writing. For many years, before I retired, I wrote blogs as a hobby. It was pre-social media (can you imagine!)
Then, we bought the Cabin, and the blogging took a back seat to all the work that we wanted to do to get this place up and running. Balancing that kind of project PLUS a full time job was tough. And then social media started, and it seemed rather unnecessary to write posts on a blog when I could just post on Facebook.
Things change year to year, though, and Facebook isn't as much fun as it was originally. I am not interested in posting to Facebook like I was when it first started. I still like to write, though. It has always been my way to contemplate life.
My approach to life has changed as I have gotten older. I am not so "goal oriented" anymore. I am more "process oriented." It's all about the journey, not the destination. So I paint, but only because painting is an enjoyable activity for me. I don't expect to make a million dollars becoming a famous artist. And I want to write again, not because I expect to find readers, but because I enjoy creating written work.
I'm at the beginning all over again, working on a blog like I've done so many years before. This of course has a different topic, and I'm in a much different place and space and time of life. It's been so long that I think I need to relearn the mechanics of blogging. The blabbing on and on about unimportant things, though, that's coming right back to me. Like falling off a bike.
So this, my very first post on my new blog, isn't all that exciting. It's my learning curve. It's my own "welcome back, I missed you" to a hobby I really enjoyed for years.
